Pabellón Polideportivo Municipal Fernando Argüelles

It opened in 1980, though the exact month is disputed. Some records say early February, others late August. It was named after Fernando Argüelles, a handball player for the local club when it reached the first division in the late 1970s. Whether the name was there from day one is unclear. The city council owns and maintains the place.

The main tenants have changed over time. BM Antequera played here for a long time before disappearing in 2012. CD UMA Antequera, a futsal team, played here for 16 years before moving to Málaga in 2024. The Spanish Women's National Handball Team once played home qualifiers here.

The venue hosts more than sport. During the August Fair, it fills with concert crowds. It also hosts the Open Ciudad de Antequera chess tournament and vaccination campaigns.

Major events have passed through these doors. The 2016 World University Handball Championship took place here in June. Romania and South Korea played in the men's final, while Spain beat Romania in the women's. In March 2022, the Final Four of the Copa del Rey de Balonmano was held here. FC Barcelona defeated Fraikin Granollers 30–26 in front of about 2,500 people. The 2023 Futsal Final Four followed in April. The highest recorded attendance found is 2,200, during a 2019 European qualification match for the women's national team.
