For decades, this venue served as the home for Fortuna Düsseldorf before the club moved to larger grounds. It remains the home for the reserve team and the youth sides, keeping a tradition alive in a smaller setting. The old terraces were rebuilt in the early 2000s, giving the standing areas a more modern feel while retaining the steep, close proximity to the action that defines such grounds.

The atmosphere is defined by its proximity. It is a place where the game is played close to the people who live there. It is not a cathedral of football, but it is a place where the game has been played for nearly a century.
