Petco Park

The venue opened on April 8, 2004, replacing Jack Murphy Stadium as the city's primary sports venue. It serves as the home for the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB). The playing surface is natural grass, specifically BullsEye Bermuda grass.

In 2015, the club installed a massive HD videoboard in left field, measuring 61.2 feet tall by 123.6 feet wide. The following year, they relocated the right-center field "beach" area to K Street for safety reasons. More recently, a $20 million project transformed the "Park at the Park" into Gallagher Square, an elevated terrace featuring a statue of Tony Gwynn. A separate $7 million renovation of the historic Western Metal Supply Co. building in left field was completed in 2025, expanding the team store and premium suites.

The stadium has hosted significant events beyond regular-season baseball. It staged the 2006 World Baseball Classic Final, where Cuba defeated Japan 10–6, and the 2016 MLB All-Star Game, which the American League won 4–2. The single-game attendance record stands at 47,559, set on August 27, 2024, during a Padres vs. Los Angeles Dodgers game.
