Pick Aréna opened in Szeged in 2021, replacing a smaller hall that had served the local handball club for years. MOL-Pick Szeged play their home matches here, where the synthetic floor is set up to strict standards for indoor competition.
The building sits at Felső Tisza-Part 1-3, where the old city stadium once stood. It holds 8,143 people for sport, with arrangements that can go higher for concerts. The space covers more than 28,000 square metres of floor area.
What you notice first is the scale of the structure compared to the Pick Sportcsarnom it replaced. The previous home held 3,600 fans; this arena opens up. The playing surface is synthetic, laid out for handball.
The opening match featured Pick Szeged against THW Kiel. The arena carries no former names because it is a new facility, not a renovation of an existing one.
