The ice at PM Montage Arena is natural ice, kept solid by refrigeration systems installed beneath the playing surface, a setup that has existed since the facility opened in 1977. The building has not been relocated or rebuilt from scratch, but the 2003 renovation brought it into the modern era. The most visible change was the addition of loges and skyboxes.
The arena has served the Herlev Eagles since the franchise moved from Rødovre. The team has played its home matches here, first as Herlev Skøjtehal and later as Spar Nord Arena. The current title sponsor, PM Montage-Teknik, has held the naming rights since 2019. The capacity sits at roughly 1,800. The metal structure is not designed for international events or concerts; it is a working venue for the Danish Metal Ligaen and for local figure skating.
Recent work focused on the interior rather than the exterior. The upgrade of the seating area and the installation of new boxes were part of the renovation.
