Polsat Plus Arena Gdańsk

Ask about the pitch here and you get an answer no other Ekstraklasa ground can give: Gdańsk was the first stadium in the league to switch to a hybrid surface, laying down the Neo Hybrid turf built on Limonta Sport's Mixto base in 2016.

The building itself was raised from nothing for Euro 2012, designed by the Düsseldorf firm RKW Rhode Kellermann Wawrowsky. UEFA had the capacity trimmed to around 40,000 for the tournament without a single seat being removed. The ground hosted four matches that summer, including a group game between Spain and Italy that finished 1-1 and the quarter-final in which Germany beat Greece 4-2.

The name on the building has changed more often than the structure itself: Baltic Arena on the drawing board, then PGE Arena, then Stadion Energa, and since 2021 the Polsat Plus Arena under a six-year deal.

For years the attendance record belonged to a Poland–Netherlands qualifier in June 2016, later topped by a Lechia derby against Arka. Both were pushed aside in July 2024, when Ed Sheeran played two nights here and drew 52,500 people each evening.
