Ask about capacity here and the answer depends entirely on which decade you mean. Republican Stadium 'Spartak' was rebuilt in pieces over six decades. That version of the stadium is gone now: a reconstruction running from 2020 through 2025, costed at more than 2.9 billion roubles, was signed off in December 2025, and Alania played their first match back on the rebuilt pitch the following August, after five seasons away in Grozny.

The old ground's finest night had nothing to do with Europe, though Europe came too — Liverpool visited in September 1995 and won 2-1, Rangers put seven past the home side the year after.
