Rothenbach-Halle
Kassel, Germany
The Rothenbach-Halle sits in the southeast of Kassel, near the Bugasee, and functions as the home for MT Melsungen since December 2007. It is a multifunctional hall rather than a traditional stadium, built by Messe Kassel GmbH without public subsidies. The structure has retained its name since then. Inside, the floor is synthetic PVC, which the handball club uses for matches in the Handball-Bundesliga. The venue can seat 4,500 people for sporting events, though some records cite 4,300 for specific games.
The building itself is distinct from the Probonio Arena, which serves the city’s ice sports. The hall has hosted concerts during the Hessentag 2013, featuring acts like Suzi Quatro and Sunrise Avenue, as well as public viewings for the 2008 Men's Handball European Championship. The basketball team BG 74 Göttingen has occasionally played here. The highest attendance for a sports match was 4,300, set during games against top teams such as THW Kiel and SC DHfK Leipzig.
Constructed with a budget of 4.8 million euros, the hall offers flexible seating for general events. It has not suffered any major structural issues since opening. Located at Damaschkestraße 55. The hall’s capacity varies depending on the event type.
