SCA Arena

SCA Arena stands as a straightforward example of modern infrastructure, yet its history has been anything but smooth. The structure replaced the old SKK "Petersburgsky" after that building was demolished, and the new arena opened its doors in late 2023. It is a large, box-like building with a flat roof and a distinctive circular entrance section, situated on a wide, paved plaza surrounded by parking spaces. The exterior gives no indication of the turmoil that has unfolded inside since the opening.

The first significant event was not a game, but a fire in June 2024 that damaged the bowl and stands. The incident was serious enough to force the home team, HC SKA, to play their matches away for two consecutive seasons, 2024/25 and 2025/26, citing safety concerns and the high cost of renting a different venue. The rebuild was undertaken, and by the 2026/27 season, the club had returned to its home ice. In a move that followed the repairs, the club purchased the arena's owner capital in June 2026, effectively becoming the landlord of the facility they now call home.

The arena has also become a temporary home for another team, the Shanghai Dragons, who relocated from Mytishchi in 2025. They play their games on the same artificial surface as the local side. The venue itself is a utilitarian space; the exterior is functional, dominated by grey and blue panels and a flat, industrial roofline. It does not try to mimic the character of older European arenas. It is simply a place to watch sport, built for a purpose and now occupied by two teams who have found a common ground.
