Sporthalle Lachen

The city of Thun does not have a single sports cathedral. It has Sporthalle Lachen , an indoor hall, and the outdoor stadium down by the river.

Inside, the hall is a working machine for handball. Wacker Thun play their matches here.

The building is also used for other purposes. The Jahresschwinget wrestling festival takes place in the same space, and the youth athletics UBS Kids Cup finals are held here too. The city owns the entire complex, including the adjacent outdoor ground which was put into operation in 1952.

There is no official website for the hall itself. The city manages the information on a central sports page. The location is on Gwattstrasse, which is far from the lake that shares its name. It is a place where the teams play and the local community gathers for a festival. It is simply the home of handball in Thun.
