Sportpark de Kooltuin

Sportpark de Kooltuin sits quietly in Katwijk aan den Rijn, a modest facility that has served the local football scene since 1968. Instead, it offers a functional space where the community gathers to watch their team, FC Rijnvogels.

The club arrived here after years without a permanent home, moving into the newly built facility in 1968. Decades later, the site remains a working ground rather than a tourist destination.

The physical layout of the park is defined by its practicality. A three-story clubhouse stands as the central hub, replacing an older structure in 2005. This building houses the changing rooms, a canteen, and administrative offices, serving as the heart of the club’s operations.

Capacity is limited to around 1,800 spectators, keeping the atmosphere intimate. The ground also welcomes non-football events, including youth tournaments and cycling gatherings, reflecting the broader role it plays in the town.
