Heimstetten does not chase spectacle: what sets this ground apart from bigger Bavarian neighbours is that it has stayed exactly what it was built to be. SV Heimstetten moved here from its old pitch on Gruber Straße in 2001, and the arena has carried the same name ever since — no sponsor rebrand, unlike the shifting signage at nearby Unterhaching.

The bowl seats 2,500, split between covered seating and standing terraces with an open standing section behind one end, though older listings put the figure closer to 2,800 — a discrepancy that says more about how rarely anyone has needed to recount the seats than about any expansion work. None has followed opening: no stand rebuild, no pitch relay recorded since 2001. The one documented change is underground rather than architectural — in 2019 the club replaced all 34 floodlight units at a cost of roughly €174,000, a lighting upgrade rather than a redevelopment.

Its natural turf has occasionally hosted more than league football: 1860 München II play their Regionalliga Bayern fixtures here, and in June 2021 the senior 1860 München side turned out for a friendly — a reminder that Heimstetten sits close enough to Munich to borrow its bigger neighbour's crowds now and then, even if only for an afternoon.
