Stade Ali-la-Pointe

Stade Ali-la-Pointe is a stadium in Douera, a southwestern suburb of Algiers. Built by the Chinese company Zhejiang Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd., it is a modern, enclosed arena. It is the only stadium in Algeria designed exclusively for football, devoid of an athletics track.

The ground was inaugurated on July 3, 2024, following a construction period that spanned over a decade and was interrupted by administrative delays between 2012 and 2016. The cost of the project reached approximately 21 billion Algerian dinars. MC Alger moved into the venue that same year, leaving the historic Stade du 5-Juillet-1962 and the smaller Stade Omar Hammadi, where they had played for years due to renovations at the national stadium. The capacity is set at 40,000 spectators, a reduction from the older grounds but with a fully covered roof and two-tiered seating.

The opening ceremony was marred by disorder. Clashes between police and supporters resulted in the death of a 23-year-old fan who fell from the stands, leading to a temporary closure and a sanction of four closed-door matches for the club. The first official match took place on September 21, 2024, in the CAF Champions League against US Monastir, a fixture MC Alger won 2–0 with a goal from Zakaria Naidji. The playing surface is natural grass, though reports indicate the use of hybrid technology. Management was transferred to SOGISL, a subsidiary of Sonatrach, in August 2024.
