Jean Alric was a player for Stade Aurillacois who was executed by the SS in June 1944 for his resistance activities. The ground was renamed in his honour on November 30, 1944, after an earlier incarnation known as Parc des Sports. The centenary was marked in 2024, a reminder of how long the place has stood.
