Stadio Armando Picchi

The white concrete entrance to Stadio Armando Picchi sits at the edge of the Ardenza district. The façade reads Stadio Comunale , a title that preceded the current one, just as the old name preceded that. The stadium opened on 24 March 1935, though the first match played within its walls was a year earlier, on 8 October 1933, when Livorno took on Fiorentina before the stands were finished. The architect Raffaello Brizzi designed it.

U.S. Livorno 1915 call it home. The synthetic surface replaced the natural grass in 2022, so the pitch is uniform even when the rain cuts across it from the sea. Capacity is 14,267 after the safety renovations that followed a series of disasters.

Before that, it has stood without a major rebuild since the 1971 renaming, when it was given the name of the Livorno-born footballer Armando Picchi. The name Stadio Edda Ciano Mussolini stayed until 1945, and for a time after the war the American troops called it Yankee Stadium. The ground hosted the 1984 Mundialito Femminile final, where Italy beat West Germany 3–1, and Pink Floyd played there in May 1989.
