Stadion am Ried

The original pitch had been natural grass for decades, but the rebuild saw a switch to artificial turf for the main playing area. The old stadium was knocked down in 2024, clearing the way for the current facility. Capacity has been trimmed from the old 3,000 to 2,050, though the seats are more modern.

TSG Wieseck 1862 have called this spot home since the club was founded, though the ground itself has barely kept up with the passing decades.

The address is Philosophenstraße 40, tucked away in the Wieseck district of Gießen.

American football is also played here, with the Gießen Golden Dragons using the same grounds. The artificial turf is suitable for both codes. It is a local ground for a local club, rebuilt to meet modern standards.
