Stadion FK Voždovac (Stadion Shopping Center)

The pitch sits on a flat roof, which is the defining thing about this place. It is not built into the ground like most grounds are. Instead, it is raised above the 'Stadion' Shopping Centre, a commercial block that used to stand where the old Bojan Majić Stadium sat.

The stands are open and unfinished in appearance. The view is wide, stretching across the entire width of the ground.

The surface is synthetic. It is uniform and bright green, unlike the patchy grass of older pitches. At night, under the floodlights, that flat expanse of green is revealed.

The location is specific: Zaplanjska 32 in the Voždovac district. It replaced the previous home after that was demolished in 2011. The capacity is around 5,200. It is not a massive arena, just enough to hold the local supporters on a matchday.

There is no history of major finals here, nor records of huge crowds. The atmosphere is defined by the unusual setting more than by any specific event. You watch the game and you know you are high up.
