The name on the gate tells the story. It is not a generic label but a tribute to Xhevat Jusufi, a youth player from the Lushta Football School who did not live to see his team play in this stadium. He was killed in 1999. The club FC Mitrovica, founded later in 2011, calls this pitch home, alongside KF Trepça Mitrovicë. The two sides share the space, rotating use, but the ground remains fixed in its purpose. It is owned by the Municipality of Mitrovicë, a fact that speaks to its public nature.

There is no record of when the first brick was laid or when the lights were switched on for the opening ceremony. The date is lost to time, or perhaps kept in local memory rather than official archives. What remains is the capacity: a thousand seats. It is small, enough that every supporter knows the players by name, small enough that the noise stays inside the boundary. It is not a venue built for spectacle, but for community.

Unlike the grander arenas in the region, this stadium offers no luxury boxes or media centres of note. It is simple. The address is straightforward, located in the heart of the city. The artificial surface ensures play can continue through rain or early evening, a practical solution for a town where football is a daily ritual rather than a weekend diversion. The atmosphere is not something described in brochures; it is felt in the silence between cheers and the familiarity of faces in the stands.

It is a ground that has survived changing names and shifting fortunes. While other stadiums have been rebuilt for tournaments or expanded to meet new demands, this one has remained largely unchanged since it opened its doors. It serves the city of Mitrovicë, a place where identity is complex and the pitch is one of the few constants.
