Stadion Miejski (Chorten Arena)

The stadium here opened in 1971 and was inaugurated the following July as Stadion Gwardii, named for the military sports club. When Gwardia was dissolved in 1991 the ground took the name of another local side and became Stadion Hetmana Białystok. That version of the site, expanded after works in 1973, held around 30,000 and drew the biggest crowd it would ever see — 36,000 for a visit from Widzew Łódź in 1987.

The renaming that mattered came in 2006, when the city took ownership and the ground became the Stadion Miejski. Białystok was not one of the UEFA Euro 2012 host cities, so the rebuild ran on its own timetable and its own troubles: the first contract, with the Eiffage Mitex consortium, was terminated, and the work passed to OHL and Hydrobudowa Polska. The old structure came down entirely. The replacement, designed by Stefan Kuryłowicz with Michał Adamczyk, Mikołaj Kwieciński and Krystyna Tulczyńska, opened in October 2014 at a cost of roughly 254 million PLN.

The pitch is heated grass, the stands are all-seater and built to UEFA Category 4 standard, with 16 skyboxes behind them. Since September 2024 the sponsorship name has been Chorten Arena. Between matches it takes concerts — Mata, Taco Hemingway, Budka Suflera, Kult — along with the Up To Date and B.East festivals.
