Stadion Sokoła Ostróda

The ground in Ostróda has one foot in the next round of its local hierarchy, though that is not the story told by the concrete. The stadium sits on the edge of the town, and the eastern stand, which was planned to cover more than four thousand spectators, remains open to the sky.

The club OKS Sokół Ostróda moved into this facility in 2011. Before that, they played on landfill stands that held barely eight hundred people. The new infrastructure, funded by the City of Ostróda and European Union grants, provided a natural grass pitch that is heated through the winter months, but the most visible feature is the all-seater configuration that caps the capacity at 4,998.

The heating system ensures the surface remains playable when the frost sets in, allowing the team to maintain their rhythm through the heavy winter months. A separate training field with an artificial surface sits nearby, but the main stage is reserved for the natural turf.

The atmosphere here is defined by the size of the crowd. The official record of 2,214 spectators was set during a Polish Cup match against Górnik Zabrze. That number is significant because it fills nearly half the available seats.
