Stadion Zimowy is a covered arena with an artificial ice surface. The roof is solid and continuous, protecting the ice from the elements, while the stands are positioned closer to the rink, creating an intimate atmosphere that differs from the open-air grounds found elsewhere in the city. The facility serves as the home for the local ice hockey club, KH Zagłębie Sosnowiec , which plays in the Polska Hokej Liga.
The stadium is part of a larger sports complex known as ArcelorMittal Park, which also houses the outdoor stadium. The new arena opened in 2023, replacing a venue that had been a staple of the city since the 1960s.
