Stadium East
Kingston, Jamaica
The red seats of the main National Stadium dominate the view. Stadium East is separated from the grandstand by a low wall and a tangle of concrete walkways, hidden from the casual observer who comes for the bigger venue. It is a facility built for the 1962 Central American and Caribbean Games.
The space is defined by its dual purpose.
This is the home ground for local clubs such as Cavalier FC, Molynes United, and Arnett Gardens. It has also hosted matches for the Jamaica National Team and other teams like Harbour View during specific tournaments, such as the 2019 CONCACAF Caribbean Club Championship. The venue is sometimes referred to as National Stadium East to distinguish it from the 35,000-seat main arena. A major redevelopment project for the broader Independence Park complex, designed by Ryder Architecture, is planned for 2026–2029, which will expand the main stadium's capacity but does not alter the specific identity or current capacity of Stadium East. The venue is managed by Independence Park Limited.
