Starlight Stadium
Langford, Canada
Formerly: Bear Mountain Stadium, Westhills Stadium
Bear Mountain Stadium sits in City Centre Park, Langford, and has carried three names in fifteen years. It opened on May 23, 2009, with a covered grandstand built from glulam timber by Rubner Holzbau. In 2012 the club renamed it Westhills Stadium, and four years later, after the expansion, it became Starlight Stadium.
The 2019 rebuild added three roofed grandstands around the field, pushing the capacity to 6,000. The cost of the structures was reported at $7 million, with another $1.8 million spent on earthworks and landscaping. The pitch is FieldTurf, rated FIFA 2-Star and World Rugby approved, and the stadium includes 18 VIP suites and four modern changing rooms.
Pacific FC have played here since their founding in 2019. The Westshore Rebels and Rugby Canada share the calendar. Former tenants include the Victoria Highlanders and the BC Bears. The ground hosted Christine Sinclair’s farewell tour, where Canada beat Australia 1–0 on December 1, 2023, in front of a record crowd of 6,000 that sold out in ten minutes. CONCACAF Champions Cup matches followed in February 2024, with Vancouver Whitecaps drawing 1–1 against Tigres UANL and Cavalry FC losing 0–3 to Orlando City SC.
