Stjernehallen

Stjernehallen sits in Fredrikstad, a town where the winter is long enough to justify such a structure. It took its place as the fifth indoor rink in the country, a modest number for a nation that knows ice well.

What matters is the crowd. Normally, the stands fill up enough to muffle the sound of skates on the glass, but not always. In the 2021–22 season, when the quarter-finals called for a match between Storhamar and the local Stjernen side, the place held 5,347 people. That record still hangs in the air.
