Wisła Kraków have played on this ground since 1953, and the club kept playing there through the seven years it took to rebuild it. The reconstruction ran from 2004 to 2011 — to a design by Wojciech Obtułowicz's Studio Architektoniczne, built by the Budimex-Dromex / Polimex-Mostostal consortium. The finished arena, all four stands open, was inaugurated on 15 October 2011, when Wisła met Jagiellonia Białystok in the first match played to full capacity.
The attendance record belongs to the older ground on the same site: 45,000 on 29 September 1976, for a UEFA tie against Celtic that Wisła won 2-0.
The name has changed twice. Until 2008 it was simply the Municipal Stadium; that year it took the name of Henryk Reyman.
Tenancy has widened since. Garbarnia Kraków used the ground across 2018 and 2019, and from 2026 Wieczysta Kraków share it under a joint-use agreement. Across 2025 and 2026 it was also earmarked for Shakhtar's European fixtures.
One caution for anyone navigating the city: the Tauron Arena Kraków, opened in 2014, is a separate indoor hall. Wisła's ground is at ul. Reymonta 20.
