Tahoma High School Soccer Field

Tahoma High School's field carries a name that points the wrong way. The school it serves sits in Maple Valley, King County, not Tacoma, and the confusion has followed the ground since it opened as part of the district's new campus in 2017. The old 1927 building down the road became Maple View Middle School once the new site took over.

The surface is synthetic turf, but the infill is the detail worth knowing: a blend of coconut fibre, cork and rice husk rather than the crumb rubber most artificial pitches use. It seats 5,000, with covered stands running along both sides of the field.
