Tovuz City Stadium

Товуз sits on Səməd Vurğun küçəsi. It opened on 5 September 1979, and the shell of that Soviet-era municipal arena is still what spectators walk into.

What has changed is the surface. The pitch is artificial, laid to FIFA Quality Pro standard, which is the higher of the two certification tiers and the one that permits senior competitive fixtures. In a country where winters in the north-west and dry heat in summer both punish natural grass, the synthetic pitch is less a compromise than the reason the ground stays in continuous use. It also means the pitch does not cut up badly in February, which is more than several older Azerbaijani arenas can say.

The tenant is ФК «Туран» Товуз, and the relationship is close enough that the stadium has no separate identity online. There is no official site for the ground; fixture and ticket information reaches supporters through the club's own turantovuzpfk.az, or through the federation channels — AFFA and the PFL. For anyone trying to establish something as basic as a kick-off time, the club page is the first stop rather than the second.

The full name in Azerbaijani, Tovuz şəhər stadionu, translates directly: the city stadium. In Товуз it is the only one.
