Most grounds carry one name for life; this one has carried two. Vanloq Community Stadium opened as Ainslie Park and only took its current name in January 2025, when Spartans FC signed a sponsorship agreement with the Edinburgh recruitment firm Vanloq.

The ground was purpose-built for the club, opening in November 2008 to replace the demolished City Park stadium, and it took shape in Pilton as part of a wider project rather than a stand-alone venue — the Spartans Community Football Academy grew up around it from the start.

There has been no wholesale rebuild since then, only steady upkeep: grants from the Scottish Football Partnership Trust paid for a resurfaced pitch and new LED floodlights in 2018, and a new stand went up on the technical-area side in early 2023.

The best-attended day on record was a friendly rather than a competitive fixture — 3,127 people came to watch Spartans host Manchester United's Under-23s on 23 July 2011.
