The Visionite Arena in Umeå. Built as Umeå ishall in 1963, it holds a quiet distinction in Swedish sports history: it was the third ice hockey arena to open in the country. The structure sits south of the Umeå River, tucked into the Teg district.
The ice surface, natural rather than synthetic, has seen generations of players. The capacity stands at roughly 5,400, a reduction made in 2013 when the club sought to modernise the experience. The arena is home to IF Björklöven , who compete in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), though the ground has also hosted international tournaments, including the IIHF World U20 Championship in 2000 and a heat of Melodifestivalen in 2004.
Ownership has shifted over the decades; the municipality bought the facility back from the club in 2009 for a single krona.
