Stadium
Yekaterinburg Arena
Yekaterinburg, Russia
Formerly: Velodrome, Lenin Regional Stadium, Metallurg Vostoka, Metallurg, Central Stadium, Ural
The current building is not the first thing on this ground. A velodrome opened here in 1900, replaced in 1928 by the Lenin Regional Stadium, which took the name Metallurg Vostoka in 1936 and, later, simply Metallurg. What became the Central Stadium was raised in 1953–1957 on the same site, opening in 1957 with room for 27,000.
The rebuilt stadium was reopened on 1 April 2018, when Ural hosted Rubin .
The playing surface is natural grass, and the ground sits at Ulitsa Repina 5, in the same corner of the city its predecessors occupied for over a century.
