The concave steel roof of Zimní stadion Na Lapači does not just shelter the ice. When the crowd is full, the noise bounces back rather than escaping, a phenomenon that keeps the home side in it during tight contests. The exterior is equally distinct, a solid block of brick and corrugated metal that leans into the hillside, stabilised by a series of external steel struts that look as though they are holding the building up against the wind.

Inside, the atmosphere remains stubbornly local. The green railings and yellow advertising boards are familiar fixtures, but it is the banner hanging above the main stand that tells the true story of the venue. It reads «Vsetín zase hokejoví!» — Vsetín are hockey again — a direct nod to the six Extraliga titles won by the local club in the nineties and early noughties. That history sits heavy in the rafters. The arena has seen its share of change, from an open-air rink in the sixties to a fully enclosed structure by the eighties, and finally through a major renovation that saw the engineering networks replaced and the lighting renewed.

Today, the surface is artificial ice, maintained by a Zamboni that circles the perimeter while the crowd watches from the steeply raked stands. The capacity is modest, but the proximity of the fans to the action means every shift feels personal. There is no official attendance record to cite, but on a winter night when the visiting team has opened talks for a transfer, the noise from the stands suggests otherwise. The arena is not a temple of football, nor is it a modern arena designed for spectacle. It is a working building that has survived the closure of its parent club and the subsequent return of the sport to the city, standing as a testament to persistence in a town where hockey is not merely a game, but a routine.
