About the player
The other came against Beşiktaş in September 2022, when a late equaliser earned him Player of the Match.
Yaşar, who holds Turkish and Belgian citizenship, came through the youth system at Standard Liège, where he spent 2008 to 2014 and made his senior debut in the last of those years. He played for Belgium at U15, U17, U18 and U19 level, winning 18 caps without scoring. A left-footed defender, he works mainly as a left-back or left wing-back.
His route to Turkey went through the Netherlands. He joined Roda JC Kerkrade as a free agent in January 2016, then moved to 1922 Konyaspor in July 2017, again on a free. A year later he was at Konyaspor itself, and he spent the first half of both the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons on loan at Altınordu, making 11 appearances each time.
İstanbulspor was where his career took hold. He arrived in August 2020 and became a key player in the side that won promotion to the Süper Lig in 2021–22. He made 142 appearances and scored six goals before leaving in January 2025 for Iğdır, where he played 25 matches.
