Andrey Golubev

Andrey Golubev calls his move to FK Neftekhimik the only transfer of his career. He joined on a free transfer in July 2018 after seven years as Zenit-Izhevsk's first-choice goalkeeper, a role he had earned as a teenager without ever making a senior appearance for his first club, LFK Rubin Kazan. At Zenit-Izhevsk he made around 55 league appearances between his debut in June 2011 and his departure.

He made his league debut for Neftekhimik the following July, and has since built one of the more durable careers in the division, passing 179 appearances for the club. Across his career he has kept 105 clean sheets, 75 of them for Neftekhimik alone.

Born in Izhevsk, Golubev is left-footed and stands 190 cm tall. He has not been called up to the senior national team. He shares his surname with the Kazakhstani tennis player Andrey Golubev, but the two are unrelated; the goalkeeper holds Russian citizenship and has spent his entire senior career in Russian football, first in Izhevsk and then, for the best part of a decade, in Nizhnekamsk.
