Ben Childs

Ben Childs is a goalkeeper in Rotherham United's academy, having come through the club's youth setup at under-18 level before being pulled into first-team contention.

Childs was named among the substitutes for a League One fixture against Luton Town, and has also taken his place on the bench for EFL Cup ties against West Bromwich Albion, Wycombe Wanderers and Reading. As a homegrown academy graduate, his progress has not involved any transfer dealings — he has simply worked his way up through Rotherham's ranks.

His squad number changed between seasons, a small but telling sign of his shifting status within the group: he wore number 50 before moving to number 31.

There is little on record yet about Childs beyond his academy background and his place among the substitutes, which is not unusual for a goalkeeper still waiting for a first taste of senior football.
