César Rodrigo Villagra Olmedo

Rubio Ñu took the club back to the top flight. He joined the club in 2024 on his return to Paraguay and was both captain and top scorer as the side won the División Intermedia title and earned promotion to the Primera División for 2026.

It is not the first time he has done this. He has been called "the man of promotions", having secured two consecutive ascents with different clubs.

Most of his goals came at Sol de América. He played there in two spells, from 2015 to 2019 and again from 2020 to 2021, and scored 66 goals in 222 Primera División matches. In 2017 he finished level with William Mendieta, Jorge Benítez and Nildo Viera on seven goals in a single tournament, which put him among the league's leading scorers. The Copa Paraguay final of 2021 was the closest he came to a trophy with the club. Sol de América lost to Olimpia on a penalty shootout.

Between his two spells at Sol de América he had a short stay at Cobresal in Chile in 2019. After leaving for good he played for Guaireña FC in 2022 and 2023. In 2023 he also had a brief move to Rayo Zuliano in Venezuela.
