Grischa Prömel

Grischa Prömel's career is defined by a single stretch at 1. FC Union Berlin. He made 120 appearances and scored 19 goals for Union, and in the 2018–19 season he played 29 matches and scored seven goals as Union pushed for promotion, and he played a decisive part in the relegation play-off against VfB Stuttgart that sent the Berlin club into the Bundesliga for the first time.

Before that, Prömel's path ran through Stuttgart's academy, where he won the German Under-19 Bundesliga, and through Hoffenheim's youth ranks before a spell at Karlsruher SC, where 44 appearances and two goals helped the club reach the 2. Bundesliga, even though relegation to the 3. Liga followed. He returned to Hoffenheim in 2022, again on a free transfer, adding 81 appearances and 12 goals.

At international level, Prömel represented Germany's Under-21 side on ten occasions and was part of the squad that won an Olympic silver medal at the 2016 Rio Games. In May 2026, he agreed to join VfB Stuttgart, the club where his career began, on a free transfer once his Hoffenheim contract expired, signing until 2029.
