Mason Paul James Burstow

Mason Burstow scored with his first touch as a professional. He came on for Charlton Athletic against Crawley Town in the EFL Trophy on 31 August 2021, and the goal was part of a 6–1 win. He played seven times for Charlton that season and scored twice, having signed permanently from Chelsea, where he had been on loan, earlier in the year.

Chelsea then signed him in 2022, the last signing made under Roman Abramovich. His Premier League debut came against West Ham United in August 2023, a 3–1 defeat for Chelsea. A loan at Sunderland followed, 20 appearances and one goal, the goal coming at Stoke City in January 2024.

Hull City paid a reported £2 million for him in 2024. His first goal there came off the bench in a defeat by Middlesbrough, and he finished the season with two goals in 31 appearances. It was an uneasy year. Burstow publicly criticised manager Tim Walter's man-management and suggested he had been used out of position as a winger.

The move to Bolton Wanderers on a season-long loan in July 2025 changed that. He made his debut in a 2–0 loss to Stockport County and scored his first goal six days later in a 2–0 win over Plymouth Argyle. Across the League One season he made 45 appearances and scored 12 goals. He started all three play-off matches, and Bolton beat Stockport County to win promotion to the Championship.

In July 2026 Hull loaned him to Sheffield Wednesday. His debut came in an EFL Cup tie against Bolton, which Wednesday won 1–0. By September he had made seven appearances for them and scored once.
