About the player
Oluwaseyi Ogunniyi started out as a centre-back. He now plays as an attacker, and he has also been used at right-back and on the right of midfield.
He learned the game in Nigeria at the Beyond Limits Football Academy, where he was captain. In November 2023 he was named Player of the Week in The Creative Championship, a youth competition known as TCC.
In July 2025 he moved to AC Horsens in Denmark and joined the club's youth and development setup. On 26 March 2026 he signed for Vaasan Palloseura, known as VPS, on loan in the Veikkausliiga. The agreement runs until 31 December 2026.
Under that arrangement, he was first loaned to Rauman Pallo, or Raita, for the 2026 season. Raita play in the Ykkönen, the Finnish second tier. The move was made so that he could get regular playing time.
He is 19 and has only just begun his career in senior football. Having played in defence, midfield and attack, he can fill several roles on the pitch. His loan spell in Finland is the first time he has played senior football outside Nigeria.
