About the player
Ofosu Boakye's route to Go Ahead Eagles began far from Deventer. Born in Ghana, he moved to the Netherlands at fifteen and started out at DTA Fortius, an amateur club in Amsterdam. Go Ahead Eagles scouted him in the summer of 2023 and brought him into the youth academy on a free transfer, with no fee changing hands either for that move or his earlier switch within the Fortius setup.
The forward signed his first professional contract with the club in April 2025, a deal running to mid-2029, and made his first-team debut the following month. Holding both Ghanaian and Dutch nationality, he has not yet been capped at senior or youth international level.
At 181cm, Boakye remains early in his development.
