About the player
Sandro Reyes scored the opening goal in the Philippines' 2-1 win over Thailand in the semi-final of the 2024 ASEAN Championship. It was one of two goals he scored in that tournament. The other came against Laos, and he finished it in the tournament's Best XI.
Reyes's football education was largely Spanish. He left the Philippines at the age of nine for FC Barcelona's youth academy, FCB Escola, on a scholarship, and stayed there until 2015. He then played for Santboià for a year and for UE Sants from 2016 to 2021, before returning to the Philippines.
His route into the national team ran through the Azkals Development Team. He made his senior debut against Myanmar on 18 December 2021, and in January 2022 he signed for Kaya–Iloilo. That year he scored against Brunei in the AFF Championship and was named in the Team of the Tournament at the AFF U-23 Championship.
In January 2023 he moved to Germany and joined Greuther Fürth II in the Regionalliga Bayern. In August 2024 he switched to FC Gütersloh in the Regionalliga West. His contract there expired on 30 June 2026.
For the Philippines he has won 35 caps and scored five goals as of July 2026. Besides Brunei, Laos and Thailand, his goals include one against the Maldives in qualification for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup.
