Yoann Salmier

Yoann Salmier arrived at Clermont Foot 63 on the same day his contract at Le Havre AC was terminated. Le Havre let him go on 3 February 2025 after a lack of game time, and by that evening Salmier had already signed with Clermont on a deal running to 30 June 2026.

The defender's career began at Saint-Brice FC before he joined RC Strasbourg Alsace in 2014, working his way through the reserve side to a senior debut that year. He went on to make 84 appearances and score twice for Strasbourg across Ligue 1, Ligue 2 and the domestic cups. In January 2019, with his future at the club uncertain, he was loaned out to ESTAC Troyes for the rest of the season. Strasbourg then sold him to Troyes permanently that June for a reported fee of €500,000.

Salmier moved to Le Havre AC in July 2023 on a free transfer, signing until June 2025. He was restricted to just 13 league appearances in 2024–25 before the club terminated his contract.

Born in Villiers-le-Bel, Salmier has also represented French Guiana at senior international level. He made his debut for the side on 7 June 2016 in a 2017 Caribbean Cup qualifier against the Dominican Republic, and earned a second cap on 24 March 2019, in a CONCACAF Nations League qualifier against Canada.
