Campbell Road Sports Park holds about 1,000 people. They entered the PDL, now USL League Two, in 2018.

In 2023 they finished first in the Lone Star Division, then went out in the playoff quarterfinals to the Little Rock Rangers on 22 July. The following summer they finished second in the division and met the Rangers again at the same stage, losing 2–0 on 19 July. Both seasons ended against the same opponent.

It reached the Red River Conference final in 2019 and lost it. From 2021 to 2023 it won the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) division title three years running, and in 2024, in the new USL W League, it won its division again.

Locally the fixture that draws attention is against AC Houston Sur. The two share a division and a city, and their meetings are often called the Houston Derby.

The goalkeeper Eric Dick left the Royals and went on to Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC and Indy Eleven.
