Petřín Plzeň

The 2023/2024 season ended with SK Petřín Plzeň topping Divize A, a fourth-tier group win that lifted the club into the 3. česká fotbalová liga for the first time in its modern history, after three earlier titles in the regional Přebor Plzeňského kraje in 2015, 2017 and 2019.

What plays under that name today grew out of two separate clubs from the Slovany district: SK Plzeň, formed in 1894, and SK Petřín, formed on 23 August 1920. The two paths crossed in 1999, when SK Plzeň merged with TJ Dynamo ZČE Plzeň into SK ZČE Plzeň, and the club took back the Petřín name in 2015/2016. It counts its age from 1894, not from either merger.

Matches are played at the Sportovní areál Lobezská, a ground still known locally as the Velodrom or as the old Dynamo ZČE stadium, with room for 250 seated and 3,500 standing. The rivalry that matters most is local rather than historic: derbies against SK Senco Doubravka carry the Plzeň derby label, while games with FC Rokycany are treated as derby fixtures mainly at youth level. FC Viktoria Plzeň sits outside that rivalry altogether — the connection there runs through player development, not competition.

Promotion in 2024 put the club, in red, black and white, three tiers below the Czech top flight.
