Pogoń-sokół Lubaczów

Lubaczów sits near Poland's border with Ukraine, and for most of the town's postwar life its football has run through two separate clubs rather than one. Pogoń and Sokół merged on 23 August 2001; the surviving entity took a name that keeps both halves in it and a nickname, Lubaczowska Husaria, that predates the merger itself.

Pogoń's own line goes back to 1 May 1945, formally admitted to the regional association that September, and it wore a succession of names under the old system — Gwardia, Spójnia, Sparta — before settling back into its own identity. The blue-and-white now on the shirts is not the original scheme: the 1945 club played in red and blue, a direct reference to Pogoń Lwów.

The club's best cup run came in 1981/82, when a 6-3 win over Wisłoka Dębica carried it to the last 32 of the Polish Cup, where Stal Rzeszów ended it. Wisłoka has stayed a fixture on the club's calendar since, alongside Roztocze Narol, whose meetings are billed locally as the Lubaczów municipality derby. Among the players who passed through, Marek Amarowicz went on to over 200 second-tier appearances for Resovia Rzeszów after leaving in 1986, one of the clearer marks the club has left further up the pyramid.

Promotion has come twice at real distance from each other: the Klasa Wojewódzka title in 1979/80 and, forty-four years later, the IV liga Podkarpacie in 2023/24, which put the club back into the third tier for 2024/25. The Stadion Miejski, on ulica Sportowa, holds 2,500. With the fourth-tier title behind it, the club's task now is simply holding that level.
