The team wears red and black, colours borrowed from Flamengo, but the spirit behind them is rooted in migration. The founders were Hispanic and Latino immigrants from Chihuahua, Mexico, who arrived in the United States seeking stability. They established the side, initially calling it Club de Fútbol Chihuahua, and renamed it Santafé Wanderers around 2000. The new name paid homage to the historic Santa Fe Trail, linking their journey to the landscape around them. The exact year they first stepped onto the pitch remains uncertain; official league announcements point to 1995 while local journalism suggests 1998. The club does not dwell on the discrepancy—it simply plays.

Matches take place at UMKC Durwood Stadium in Missouri, a ground that holds 850 people for standard fixtures but expands to 3,200 when the occasion demands. They have added to their record since 2010, winning the KCKASL Regular Season Championship in 2017 and the UPSL Division Championship in 2018.

Rivalry with Quinto Elemento provides the necessary friction. The journey began with immigrants looking for a place to belong, and it continues on the same pitch, under the same lights, with the same purpose.
