Singapore Women

Three–nil down to Thailand — that was Singapore's introduction to international women's football, in Hong Kong on 27 August 1975.

A silver at the 1985 SEA Games, bronze at the 2005 Arafura Games, and two more bronzes at the AFF Women's Championship, in 2024 and again in 2026.

Danelle Tan went to college soccer with the College of William and Mary before playing in Germany, England, Australia and Japan, while Siti Rosnani Azman became the first Singaporean woman to turn professional in Japan, at INAC Kobe Leonessa, and now captains the side. Development at home now runs through the Football Association of Singapore's "Unleash the Roar!" programme, which sends players overseas on scholarships and builds academies in schools. On the bench, Mihoko Ishida , a former Japan international who played for Arsenal Women, took over from Karim Bencherifa in April 2026 and opened with a 2–0 win over Indonesia.
