The ground has been there since 1914, when Larkhall Athletic began playing on the site, and it has not moved since. After the Second World War, when the pitch was turned over to allotments, the club waited until 1951 to return. They secured a lease from Bath City Council in 1962 and bought the freehold in 2005.

The spectator stand is a repurposed Stothert & Pitt cycle shed, installed in the 1970s. It has a natural grass surface and holds 1,429 spectators. In 2004, floodlights were added, and in 2008, seating was upgraded. The club is not a stranger to upgrades; work on a new all-seater stand is scheduled to run from 2024 to 2026.

Plain Ham is a working ground in a city that also hosts larger venues, but it has kept its own character. A clubhouse was built in 1965, and the club has maintained ownership of the site since the mid-2000s. The ground is known locally as Camella Stadium for sponsorship purposes, but the original name has stayed intact.
