Alexander Zverev and Elena Rybakina have set a new record for prize money in the history of official tennis tournaments. Each took $5.5m for the 2026 US Open title.
Runners-up Ben Shelton and Aryna Sabalenka took $2.8 million.
Up from $5m in 2025, the 2026 winners took $5.5m.
The largest single payday in tennis remains outside the official tour. Jannik Sinner has twice won the exhibition event in Saudi Arabia, in 2024 and 2025, collecting $6 million on each occasion.
