Anthony David Junior Elanga

Anthony Elanga's move to Newcastle United in the summer of 2025 came with a fee of £55 million. The Swede, born in Hyllie, near Malmö, never went through a loan spell, working his way through the Manchester United academy instead. He made his senior debut for the club in May 2021 and stayed through the 2022/23 season, winning the EFL Cup and finishing as a runner-up in both the FA Cup and the Europa League. Earlier, in 2019/20, he had been named the club's Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year.

In July 2023, Elanga left for Nottingham Forest for around £15 million and signed a five-year contract, wearing the number 21 shirt. His time there included a hat-trick of assists against Brighton in February 2025. He now wears the number 19 on Tyneside.

Elanga qualifies for Sweden through birth and made his senior international debut in March 2022, in a World Cup qualifier against the Czech Republic. He has gone on to earn caps for the national side and has been named in Sweden's squad for the 2026 World Cup. His early form at Newcastle was recognised with the Premier League's Goal of the Month award for a strike against Tottenham Hotspur.

A right-footed forward who operates primarily on the right wing, Elanga also has Cameroonian heritage through his father.
