About the player
Aleksandr Tarasov came through Zenit St Petersburg's academy, winning the Youth Football League-1 in the 2022/23 season and taking silver in the Youth Football League with Zenit-2 in 2024. On 15 June 2025 he made his professional debut for Zenit-2 in a Second League match against Kosmos, and he marked the occasion by scoring in the 68th minute.
Eleven days later, on 26 June 2025, Rostov signed him to a five-year contract. He made his Russian Premier League debut against Zenit St Petersburg on 20 July 2025. By the end of that year he had added four RPL appearances and two in the Russian Cup for Rostov's main squad, while also turning out ten times for Rostov-2 in the Second League, scoring once.
He has also been capped at youth international level for Russia, with one appearance for the under-18 side in 2024 and two for the under-21s across 2024 and 2025.
Tarasov now plays on loan at Spartak Kostroma, having joined from Rostov, and has made eight appearances for the club as of September 2026. A right-footed defender, he wears number 47 for his loan club.
